What Your Participation and Support Means to Others

DBSAOK is the only statewide organization in Oklahoma that offers free, confidential, and non-judgmental peer support groups for people who experience depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health challenges. Our groups are led by trained peer facilitators who have lived experience with mental illness and recovery, and they use that experience to help others more easily navigate a path to wellness.

Support groups offer a safe space where people can share their stories, learn coping skills, and find hope and inspiration.  They are offered in various community locations, in hospital inpatient settings and online.  More than 71,000 people have directly benefitted from these efforts.

DBSAOK also provides education, advocacy, and outreach programs to raise awareness and reduce stigma about mental health issues in our communities. We partner with local mental health professionals, organizations, and agencies to promote recovery-oriented services and resources.  We are working to elevate the faces and voices of recovery and are committed to advocacy and advancing policy so that we may expand access to services, change the behavioral health system for the better and help others live their best life.
